The Alhambra already has its place next to the Veleta. The Pistas department of Sierra Nevada has named one of the two new tracks that this season are incorporated into the official plan of the station.
The 'Alhambra' (Arabic: La Roja) is a red track (for high-level skiers) that starts very close to the Veleta, and is accessed from the Zayas ski lift or from the Laguna chairlift.
This track, which was first set in last season, has a length of 600 meters and a strong slope (194 meters). It runs in parallel between the Veleta Tube and the Men's Descent. The acceptance by the skiers has decided the station to include it at the official level.
Different features presents the other second addition: Chirimoya. In homage to one of the most popular fruits of Granada's Costa Tropical, this track is located in Loma de Dílar and is accessible for mid-level skiers; it has a slope of 114 meters in its 445 meters of travel. Its reference ski lift is the Monachil Chairlift.
With these two new tracks, the station adds a total of 133 tracks in 111.4 linear kilometers of tracks.
