FADI competition teams conduct restricted training in Sierra Nevada

The competition teams of the Andalusian Federation of Winter Sports (FADI) have today developed a technification training on the slopes of Borreguiles, Sierra Nevada, overlooking the official season of competitions, which started last weekend with the Spanish Alpine SkiIng Cup U16 in Madrid Snow Zone.
The training of federated athletes included in the CETDI (Winter Sports Technification Centers) programmes, endorsed by the CSD, is covered by the current COVID regulations for Andalusia. Members of the national mountain ski team who are concentrated in the Sierra Nevada CAR have been integrated into the technification training.

Today's activity has also been supported by the Directorate General for Sports Promotion of the Junta de Andalucía and the provincial delegation of Transport, which has authorized the provisional use for the day of the Borreguiles and Al Andalus gondola lifts, and the Emile Allais chairlift.
In exceptional snow conditions, following last Thursday's heavy snowfall, the 38 FADI runners who participated in the training, divided into groups of 5 with one trainer per group, have followed the COVID protocol of FADI and the ski resort itself.
Cetursa Sierra Nevada has taken advantage of technification training to define aspects related to health safety in view of the eventual opening of the season for the winter season 2020/21.
The day has been supervised by Cetursa Sierra Nevada CEO Jesús Ibáñez and FADI President Carlos Santandreu.

Cetursa Sierra Nevada would like to stress that, despite this morning's technification training, the station is closed to the public and will remain so until mobility restrictions arising from COVID 19 allow its opening.
