This trail begins in Borreguiles and heads towards the Prados del Piornal, leaving the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada and entering the National Park along the divide that delimits the municipal terms of Monachil and Dílar.
Once you access the Río Dílar basin, whose upstream birth is found in the Lagunillos de la Virgen (3,000m altitude), you can see the wet grasslands, known as "borreguiles", which develop on wide surfaces of the slopes of the river cauce.
These grasslands are home to a great plant diversity and are the habitat of much of the Nevan endemics, such as the well-known Snow Star plant (Plantago nivalis).
Also, in this area it is very likely to find specimens of wild goat (Capra pyrenaica hispanica).
In the end, the route enters the Natural Park again, coinciding its border with the area of influence of the Laguna and Dílar chairlifts.
