Lindsey Jabobellis and Alessandro Haemmerle, the best in a wind-cancelled qualifier

The International Ski Federation (FIS) has decided to repeat tomorrow the qualifier for the final rounds of the Sierra Nevada Snowboard Cross World Cup after being forced to cancel today's selective rounds that should have served to elect the 32 men and women of this Saturday's final.

Thus, at 10.20am a single qualifying manga for men and women in individual descents will be developed, before the final rounds of four in four riders are played at 12.00 hours.

The postponement of the classification to tomorrow occurred when the wind began to condition the descent of the runners, affecting their performance and compromising their safety.

At the time of the cancellation, as soon as the second men's relegation began, Lucas Eguibar had managed to enter the final rounds, while Regino Hernandez, who, like the Basque, had many problems with the wind on the first selective descent, had not yet made his second round.

Until the cancellation of the qualifiers, American Lindsey Jacobellis and Austrian Alessandro Haemmerle had scored the best times, although some of the favorite men and women had records far from their usual performances, as their declines were affected by the increased wind strength.

"The wind was going to gusts, I was quite winded on the first descent; then in the second it was much better. On Saturday we expect better weather conditions," Lucas Eguibar said at the finish line of the track.

For his part, Regino Hernandez, in the same vein as his teammate, noted that the differences between the runners "were not normal. Everyone who went out behind we find a headwind and we were 4 or 5 seconds from the first, something that is unthinkable under normal conditions."

PROGRAM, SATURDAY, MARCH 6

10.20 hours. Rating. A single round

12.00 hours. End. 32 men - 16 women
