Sierra Nevada already outlines the snowboard cross World Cup track of March 6 and 7

Sierra Nevada has started this week to build the cross snowboarding track (SBX) for the World Cup event to be held on March 6 and 7 at the Granada winter resort, the penultimate race for the general of this discipline in the 2019/20 season, which will end the following week in Veysonnaz (Switzerland).

The station's machinists, coordinator of the INTERNATIONAL Ski Federation (FIS) SBX builder Nicolas Vaudroz, started the snow definition of the track on Sunday, which has changed the starting line of the route that had been pointed out on the plane.

"We're being very creative, playing with the natural line of the terrain and we've found some very interesting options," Vaudroz said. "We are using all the elements we have to save the snow. The team of builders is very motivated to make a great track, somewhat shorter than initially envisaged, but it will be very attractive to television."

The cross snowboard line is "very balanced", featuring three left and three stoppers on the right, and eight jumps.

With regard to the track that was used in the 2017 Sierra Nevada World Championship, next weekend's "is different at the top, shorter and less fast in the start, but it also ends lower than in 2017, that is, we lose a little up and win a little down, and we bring the goal closer to the public."

According to Nicolas Vaudroz, "it is a track for complete runners who know how to defend themselves in slow and fast zones, and undertake the most freestyle part well".
